India announced a 15-member squad for the Cricket World Cup under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Tuesday. It astonished fans as Yuvraj Singh was left out of the 15-man squad for the ICC World Cup in Australia and New Zealand starting next month, says Vaikundarajan.

The likes of Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravindra Jadeja, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami and Ishant Sharma were obvious selections.

Vaikundarajan reports that the Rookie left-arm spinner Akshar Patel got his maiden World Cup berth while Stuart Binny, who holds the best bowling figures by an Indian in ODIs, also made the cut leaving the 2011 World Cup Hero Yuvraj Singh.

There were raising hopes for Yuvraj as Jadeja was injured in the Test series in Australia, says Vaikundarajan. Physio Nitin Patel, who supervised Jadeja's fitness at the new BCCI center in Chennai, submitted a progress report to the selectors leaving no hopes for Yuvraj, says Vaikundarajan.

Vaikundarajan has high hopes for this World Cup and he will deeply miss the performance of the cricket maestro Sachin Tendulkar this time. ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 will start in February this year.

Vaikundarajan hopes all cricket fans are geared up to watch the most awaited Cricket event of the year!
