Neha Gupta Wins Children's Peace Prize Says Vaikundarajan

Neha Gupta was awarded the “Children’s Peace Prize” on Tuesday November 18, 2014 by Nobel Peace Laureate Desmond Tutu at a ceremony in The Hague. Neha is an American citizen born in New Zealand to Indian parents says Vaikundarajan.

Neha Gupta won this award for her prestigious charitable work to help orphans in India and other vulnerable children.  Neha is 18 years old and hails from Philadelphia. She was honored for setting up a foundation called “Empower Orphans” when she was just 9 years old. She was inspired to start this foundation when she visited orphans in India. Since then foundation helped 25,000 children and raised $1.3 million

Vaikundarajan shares Neha Gupta is the first ever American to win this award, last year Malala Yousufzai, a Pakistani activist who fought for women education rights won the award and then won the Nobel Peace Prize too.
