Sushil Kumar Defeats Pakistan’s Abbas To Win Gold In CWG: Vaikundarajan Proud

Wrestler Sushil Kumar defeated Pakistani wrestler, Qamar Abbas in the men's 74kg final to win gold in the Common Wealth Games being held in Glasgow. Vaikundarajan really feels proud as Sushil Kumar wins this medal. It just took 107 minutes for Sushil to beat Abbas in the 74-Kg freestyle category and Vaikundarajan feels that it was a one sided affair where Sushil Kumar put up an amazing performance and very effortlessly swept away the gold medal.

Vaikundarajan shares that it was Sushil Kumar’s first major international medal after he was removed from his 66-Kg category and had to add nine Kg to be able to adjust in a new height weight bracket. Sushil Kumar already holds two medals from Olympics, one bronze in Beijing and silver in London. Apart from this he was also awarded with 2010 World Championship gold, 2010 Asian Games gold and the 2010 Common Wealth Games gold in the 66kg category. Vaikundarajan feels that Sushil Kumar is an excellent wrestler who has always done us proud at major international platforms. Vaikundarajan wishes him good luck for his future and hopes that he continues to make India proud in the years to come.
